I know it’s almost March, but it’s never too late for a little love. A big beautiful thank you to my amazing 2011 clients! I traveled through 5 states to snap this year’s round up…and enjoyed every minute capturing these wonderful moments.
Shopping Spree Saturday!
Best start to a day ever! I had a message in my inbox this morning saying that this little ditty garnered me 2nd place in the Sierra Trading Post’s winter photography contest. This is my first iPhone winning contest image! (I love my phone…WHOOT!) Many thanks to my hubby for unknowingly posing for this photo during our Superbowl Sunday snowshoe trip up at Beaver Creek Summit…AND for helping me haul out all of the new gear I picked up this afternoon compliments of my prize money!

My publish run continues! Several weeks ago I was contacted by the editor of Highline Magazine for permission to run my grizzly bear print in their Summer 2011 issue. Of course I happily obliged! Highline Magazine, printed in Canmore, Alberta (just steps from Banff National Park), is a free publication that highlights the life and culture of the Canadian Rockies. The team at Highline Magazine stumbled across my image at the Banff Centre…where it is currently being featured as an Honorable Mention in the 2010 Banff Mountain International Photography Competition. I have been to the Canadian Rockies twice in my life…once as a child and more recently as a backpacker and photographer. Ever since I returned from my 2007 trip, I have been itching to plan my next visit to Banff, Yoho, Kootenay & Jasper National Parks. Hopefully my hubby will join me next time. I know he would love it up there!

Bound for Banff
It’s official! My family and I will be traveling up to Banff, Alberta in early November to celebrate my recent win with the 2010 Banff Mountain Photography Competition! Hundreds of professional photograhers from around the globe submitted entries to this year’s contest. And guess what…they selected one of my images as one of this year’s winners! I’m humbled and SO, SO honored to have my work displayed alongside some of the greatest adventure and landscape photographers working in today’s market. To check out this year’s winners…CLICK HERE.
As if the recognition weren’t enough…my image will travel through more than 30 countries with the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour!
